Biography

Dr. Roger Friedenthal is the immediate past Chairman of the Department of Plastic Surgery at California Pacific Medical Center and an Associate Clinical Professor at UCSF in the Division of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery. He also serves as the Site Director for the UCSF Residency Rotation in Cosmetic Surgery at California Pacific Medical Center. Dr. Friedenthal graduated "With Great Distinction" from Stanford University and received his medical degree from Yale University School of Medicine. Upon completion of his internship at Yale Medical Center, Dr. Friedenthal went on to complete his training in both general surgery and plastic surgery at UCSF Medical Center and Stanford Medical Center. He is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and a current Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.

 

Dr. Friedenthal has held numerous leadership positions throughout his career. He has served as the Chair of Plastic Surgery at the Children's Hospital and Marshall Hale Hospital. He has also served as Secretary for the California Society of Plastic Surgeons. In addition, Dr. Friedenthal has served on the Board of Directors at the California Medical Association and Brown and Toland Medical Group.

 

Dr. Friedenthal is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, the International Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, the Canadian Society of Plastic Surgeons and the Canadian Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. He has been listed in, "Best Doctors in America" and is actively involved in teaching medical students and residents the art of plastic and reconstructive surgery.
